CollectedMed.com (“CollectedMed”, “we”, “us”) is published by FnF Media LLC, a company registered in Delaware, United States. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website, why we collect it, and what choices you have.
We have written it in plain language, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.
The short version
We do not require you to create an account. We do not ask for your health information, and we do not want it. We collect basic technical and usage data through analytics, and we work with advertising partners who use cookies. You can opt out of most of this. We never sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Email correspondence. If you email us or message us on WhatsApp, we receive your message and whatever contact details you send with it.
- Newsletter signups, if you choose to subscribe. We collect your email address and nothing else.
- Comments, if commenting is enabled on an article. We collect the name, email address and comment text you submit, along with your IP address and browser information.
Information collected automatically
When you visit CollectedMed, our servers and analytics tools record standard technical information:
- IP address (often truncated or anonymised, depending on the tool)
- Browser type and version, operating system and device type
- Pages viewed, time spent on each page, and the link or search that brought you here
- Approximate location, at country or city level, derived from your IP address
Information we do not collect
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, details of your medical conditions, diagnoses, test results, medications or treatment. CollectedMed is an information publisher, not a healthcare provider. We have no patient records and no clinical relationship with our readers.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We and our partners use them for the following purposes:
- Essential cookies keep the site working — page loading, security and basic preferences. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies help us understand which articles are read, how people arrive and where they leave. We use this to decide what to write next.
- Advertising cookies are set by third-party ad networks to serve ads and measure their performance. Depending on your region and consent settings, these ads may be personalised based on your browsing.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break parts of the site.
A note on health content and advertising
Because CollectedMed publishes health information, it is worth being direct about something most policies gloss over.
Advertising networks can infer interests from the pages you visit. If you read an article about a particular condition, an ad network may use that behaviour to categorise you and target ads accordingly. We do not tell advertisers what you read, and we do not build health profiles of our readers. But we cannot fully control what third-party networks infer.
If this concerns you, use your browser’s private browsing mode, decline advertising cookies through our consent banner where offered, or use a tracker-blocking extension. All three are reasonable choices and none of them will stop you reading our articles.
Third-party services
CollectedMed uses services operated by other companies. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:
- Analytics providers, to measure site traffic
- Advertising networks, to serve ads on our pages
- Hosting and content delivery providers, which process requests to serve pages to you
- Email service providers, if you subscribe to a newsletter
- Affiliate programs. Some articles contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, the merchant may set a cookie identifying the referral, and we may earn a commission. This never costs you more, and it never influences what we recommend.
We encourage you to read the policies of any third-party site you reach through a link on CollectedMed. Once you leave our site, this policy no longer applies.
Why we are allowed to process your data
Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to you, our legal bases are:
- Legitimate interests, for basic analytics and site security — understanding how our site is used so we can improve it
- Consent, for advertising cookies, non-essential tracking and marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time
- Legal obligation, where we must retain or disclose information to comply with the law
How long we keep information
- Analytics data is retained in aggregated or anonymised form, typically for up to 26 months
- Email correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and maintain a record of it
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe
- Comments remain published until you or we remove them
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent you previously gave
- Ask us to transfer your data to another service
If you are in California, you additionally have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood, and we do not knowingly share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the ad-network activity described above.
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@collectedmed.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, normally within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Children
CollectedMed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Data transfers
FnF Media LLC operates from the United States and Bangladesh, and our service providers operate in various countries. If you access CollectedMed from outside these locations, your information may be transferred to and processed in a country with different data protection laws than your own.
Security
We use reasonable technical measures to protect the information we hold, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our site or the law changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be noted on this page.
